Novell BrainShare 2010 Preview: Ian Butler To Introduce Novell DataSynchronization

Novacoast is excited to be at BrainShare this year, and to be previewing Novell DataSynchronization (NDS) - new software written by Novacoast and Novell which easily moves information between multiple programs without the need for manual duplication. Ian Butler, a Novacoast developer on the team that created Novell Data Synchronization, says this software will be able to easily synchronize vital business data on a larger scale than has previously been available. At BrainShare in March, Butler will be demonstrating the movement of information across a spectrum of sales software - and even onto handheld devices through the use of NDS. The goal of Data Synchronization, he says, is to make needed information travel with you anywhere and everywhere. Regardless of the program in which you updated a specific contact, the update will be available to you. “We had first-hand experience writing application-specific middleware for sales and collaboration data when we found the need for a centralized synchronization engine and connector framework,” says Butler of the creation of Novell Data Synchronization. “This  kind of software is not a brand new idea; but in the past, software has been written for each needed information transfer and synchronization between programs.” Novacoast and Novell wanted to lead the move from data synchronization being an as-needed, time consuming luxury to becoming an efficient and simple solution to information access and collaboration. “Novacoast has created the first product of its kind at this scale,” says Butler. Novell Data Synchronization creates a network of connected tools for sales and communication - a network that can be as simple as porting GroupWise info to your handheld device, or as complicated as keeping data updated between Groupwise, Sugar CRM, Salesforce.com, ActiveSync, Teaming and more. “Novell Data Synchronization is standalone product, and Novacoast’s most ambitious ever,” says Butler. “There isn’t anything else quite like it out there.”
