Novacoast Expanded the Scope of its Projects in 2010

In 2010, one of the most complicated new projects taken on by Novacoast was that of completely, and on an extremely limited timetable, replacing the wireless network solution for a Southern California healthcare management and consulting services provider that serves one of the largest and most well respected multi-specialty medical groups in the region.

Novacoast undertook this project with cloud networking company Meraki to implement a future-proof wi-fi solution to cover roaming tablets in 20 facilities and provide remote management for the entire network for EPIC Management, L.P. and Beaver Medical Group, L.P.  The wireless network provides reliable and secure access supporting a large multi-year Electronic Medical Records implementation.

EPIC is a services provider responsible for Beaver Medical Group's infrastructure, which covers over 200 providers serving more than 150,000 patients, and faces very complex and constant demands on its wireless network. Because the network couldn't afford any substantial period of downtime, Novacoast was able to implement a wireless network proof of concept fast enough to provide a sample of Meraki coverage for EPIC. Following the proof of concept, EPIC engaged Novacoast to move forward with the complete implementation of over 200 access points, which now provides wall-to-wall coverage for all of their healthcare facilities.

Novacoast helped EPIC set up a trial run of different solutions across the three facilities of Beaver Medical Group, L.P. (EPIC'S largest client), and was able to install 150 APIs in under 8 days to 7 locations.
